The MH241T and MH341T are the same industrial printer with a different print head. The MH241T prints at 203 dpi and is the faster model, at up to 356 mm/s, and it prints longer labels. The MH341T prints at 300 dpi, which gives sharper small text, logos and small barcodes, at up to 305 mm/s. Everything else, from the touch display to the interfaces and options, is identical.

Figures from TSC's MH241 Series datasheet and user manual. The default speed is the factory setting on the display; your label software can change it.

    Choose the MH241T if
    • You print shipping, pallet or warehouse labels with large text and barcodes
    • Throughput matters on a busy line
    • You print very long labels, over 11,430 mm in one piece
    • Your label formats were made for 203 dpi printers
    Choose the MH341T if
    • You print small labels, for example for electronics, parts or healthcare
    • Your labels carry small text, logos or small 1D and 2D codes
    • Print quality matters more than top speed
    • Your label formats were made for 300 dpi printers

    What both printers share

TSC covers both in one user manual, so loading, calibration, menus and troubleshooting are the same. Both have a die-cast print mechanism, a metal cover with a large window, an internal power supply and a real-time clock. They take the same labels and ribbons, and both are managed with TSC Console, including TPH Care for the print head. Our setup guide and calibration guide apply to both.

    Options and resolution in practice

TSC lists the same options for both: Bluetooth and a GPIO and parallel board as factory options; a slot-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, regular, heavy-duty and care-label cutters, a peel-off kit, an internal rewinder kit and a 1 in core spindle as dealer options. TSC also builds a 600 dpi MH641T for very fine print at up to 152 mm/s.

Label formats sent as printer commands (TSPL or ZPL) set positions and sizes in dots, so a format made for 203 dpi prints smaller on a 300 dpi printer. Check such templates when you switch resolution.

    Note

The "T" models have the touch display and a media near-end sensor. TSC also sells the MH241/MH341 with a non-touch display, and the MH241P/MH341P with a built-in rewinder. These guides cover the T models we sell.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the MH341T slower than the MH241T?

Its top speed is 305 mm/s against 356 mm/s for the MH241T. Both are fast industrial printers; the difference matters mainly on high-volume lines.

Do the MH241T and MH341T use the same ribbons and labels?

Yes. Both take labels 20–114 mm wide and ribbons up to 600 m long and 114.3 mm wide on a 1 in core.

Is 203 dpi enough for barcodes?

For shipping labels and most 1D barcodes, yes. For very small barcodes, small 2D codes or fine text, 300 dpi gives sharper results.

    Can I add Wi-Fi later?

Yes. The slot-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module is a dealer option for both models. Bluetooth on its own is a factory option.
