The TSC MX240P is a 4-inch industrial label printer built for high-volume production printing. It prints thermal transfer at 203 dpi with Ethernet, USB and RS232 as standard — network-ready out of the box, with a serial port for line equipment and print controllers that still use it.

Built to be configured and serviced
What separates the MX series from a desktop printer is that it is designed as equipment rather than an appliance. Media handling can be configured to match how labels leave the printer — cutter, heavy-duty cutter, peeler and rewinder options exist within the range — and a GPIO interface is available for integrating the printer with line equipment such as applicators and PLCs.
Just as importantly, the wear parts are meant to be replaced: printheads and platen rollers are stocked as spare parts, so a worn printhead is a service item rather than a reason to buy a new machine. Printheads are available in different resolutions, so the print quality can be changed later if labelling requirements tighten.

Thermal transfer means choosing a ribbon
Match the ribbon to the label material, not to the printer. Paper labels take wax, coated paper takes wax-resin, and synthetic labels need resin — wax will not bond to a synthetic label and wipes off with a thumb.
