Newland FR8080 Salmon Presentation Scanner (NLS-FR8080-20)

The Newland FR80 Salmon is a high-performance corded presentation scanner with an extra-large scan window, built for busy checkouts and self-service points. Its megapixel 1280 × 1088 sensor reads all major 1D and 2D barcodes – including damaged, poorly printed and high-density codes on alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical products – from labels as well as phone screens, and captures codes moving at up to 3.5 m/s. Integrated EAS tag deactivation, a port for adding a second scanner, IP52 sealing and a 5-year (60-month) Newland warranty make it a complete checkout solution. This version, NLS-FR8080-20, is the USB kit: it is supplied with a 3 m USB cable, a 5 V power adapter with interchangeable EU/UK/US plugs and an L-shaped mounting bracket – everything you need to get started.

• Paper and phone screens – reads codes from labels, receipts and products as well as from smartphone displays (dedicated screen mode): mobile tickets, e-vouchers, loyalty cards and scan-to-pay QR codes.
• Integrated EAS deactivation – a built-in single-antenna system near the scan window deactivates EAS security tags; compatible with major single-loop EAS systems, including Checkpoint.
• Add a second scanner – the auxiliary port lets you connect an additional Newland handheld scanner (e.g. with the CBL127R cable) for bulky items, or a customer-facing scanner for loyalty codes and e-vouchers.
• Smart sensing and comfort – advanced sense mode with double-read prevention tells a deliberately presented code from one that is simply lying in front of the window; anti-glare short- and long-range illumination does not dazzle customers or staff; two buttons select the beep tone and volume (the buttons can be disabled).
• Dual interface, easy integration – USB (HID keyboard, USB CDC virtual COM, HID-POS, IBM SurePOS) and RS-232 via the detachable cable; JPOS/OPOS drivers and the EasySet configuration tool; IP52 sealing and a 5-year warranty.
