The Newland FR50 Pearl is a premium corded presentation scanner that is as much a design piece as a scanning tool: a glossy spherical scanner that clamps onto an elegant stand via a magnetic socket – made to be the jewel of boutique, hospitality and other customer-facing counters. Inside, a megapixel 1280 × 800 sensor reads all major 1D and 2D barcodes on paper and on phone screens, and an IR sensor together with a light sensor wakes the scanner automatically the moment a code is presented. Safe green LED aiming, automatic exposure control and a 5-year (60-month) Newland warranty complete the package. This version, NLS-FR5080-B-20, is the black USB kit: it is supplied with a 2.8 m USB cable, the desktop stand and a mounting plate – ready to plug in and scan, no power supply needed.

- Megapixel 2D scanner – the 1280 × 800 CMOS sensor reads all major 1D and 2D codes (QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, MaxiCode and more); the higher resolution reads even small codes from a longer distance, and inverse codes, rectangular 2D codes and poorly printed codes are no problem.

- Paper and phone screens – automatic exposure control (AEC) adapts the illumination time to the glare reflected from the code, so switching from a low-contrast code on paper to a highly reflective phone screen is no problem: mobile tickets, e-coupons, loyalty cards and payment QR codes.
- Magnetic socket – mount anywhere – the scanner clamps easily and firmly onto the stand or the mounting plate; the simple connection point also makes cleaning with the recommended cleaning products effortless.
- Safe LED aiming – a green LED aimer helps position the code without the health risks associated with laser-class aiming – in staff-attended and self-service applications alike.
- Plug and play – USB HID (keyboard) and USB CDC (virtual COM port), powered via USB, 2.8 m cable; configured with the EasySet tool; IP42, ±14 kV ESD protection and a 5-year warranty.
